MOBILITY
Active, Gentle & Low-Carbon Mobility
Syntezia Mobility brings together project teams working on active, gentle and low-carbon mobility, with a particular interest in
Mobility as a Service (MaaS).
The objective is to develop technologies and solutions that reduce greenhouse-gas emissions while improving mobility, accessibility, efficiency and the experience of users
ELECTRIC & AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES
Syntezia is interested in innovation that can make electric mobility more practical and accessible.
This includes:
- More efficient and affordable batteries
Increasing range while helping make electric vehicles more accessible. - Denser charging infrastructure
Making charging easier and more widely available. - Autonomous driving
Exploring how autonomous vehicles could reduce congestion and improve road safety.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT & ACTIVE MOBILITY
The transition to sustainable mobility also depends on attractive alternatives to individual car use.
Syntezia's areas of interest include more efficient and attractive public transport, together with active mobility such as walking and cycling, which can reduce air pollution and contribute to healthier cities.
Shared mobility, including bike sharing and car sharing, is also part of this approach, giving people more flexible and potentially more efficient ways to move around.
ALTERNATIVE FUELS
Syntezia also explores alternatives to fossil fuels.
Its areas of interest include hydrogen and biofuels, alongside the infrastructure required to distribute and make these alternatives accessible.
AI, MaaS & BIG DATA
Digital technologies can play an important role in transforming mobility.
Syntezia identifies artificial intelligence, Mobility as a Service and big data as tools for understanding and improving mobility systems.
AI can help optimise road-traffic management and reduce congestion, while data can provide a better understanding of how people move and what mobility solutions they actually need.
USER-CENTRED MOBILITY
The objective is not simply to introduce new technology.
Syntezia's wider living-lab and co-creation approach places users and stakeholders at the centre of innovation. This makes it possible to consider mobility from several perspectives at once — environmental impact, user needs, accessibility, infrastructure, technology and economic viability.
OUR AIM
Our aim is to help develop mobility systems that are cleaner, more accessible, more efficient and better adapted to how people actually move, contributing to lower emissions and healthier, more resilient cities.
- More efficient and affordable batteries
