Our understanding of our local ecosystem
After our analysis of our local ecosystem, we identified the general needs which are often considered priorities, and evaluated how we can best contribute to the energy , ecological and societal transition, in particular through the innovation of economic models towards a regenerative, circular and symbiotic economy .
Here is a summary in 6 key dimensions of the main findings and our analysis of the current situation which guide our action.
1. Affordable Housing: As in many high-demand regions, smart, affordable and sustainable housing is a major concern. Demand exceeds supply, leading to high prices and difficulty accessing housing
affordable for many residents.2. Sustainable mobility and transport: Improving mobility and transport
durable is an urgent need in the canton of Geneva. This includes the
development of efficient public transport networks, promotion of cycling
and walking, as well as reducing car dependence.3. Employment and economy: Support for employment and the economy is essential to ensure the prosperity of the canton. This may include initiatives to promote entrepreneurship, attract sustainable investment , develop key sectors such as technology and innovation, and foster the creation of sustainable and green jobs.
4. Education and training: Education and training play a crucial role in
development of society and the economy. Ensure equitable access to quality education, support continuing education and promote
digital skills are important needs to prepare residents
to future challenges.5. Environmental sustainability: Promoting environmental sustainability is a
growing concern. This involves measures aimed at combating climate change, promoting renewable energies,
protect natural resources, biodiversity and encourage sustainable practices in
the areas of consumption and production.6. Inclusion: Ensuring inclusion and tackling inequality is an urgent need. This includes promoting equal opportunities, combating poverty and exclusion, promoting access to health , as well as supporting vulnerable groups such as migrants, older people and people in need. disability situation.
Our circle of local actors who share this same sense of urgency for taking action on sustainability and decarbonization.
After establishing this diagnosis of needs in French-speaking Switzerland, we created the French-speaking Swiss Circle for Sustainability and Decarbonization .
This circle is open to French-speaking companies who wish to share their good practices in preparation for the Green Deal, the climate plan, the CSRD, ESRS and CSRDD directives, and more generally open to companies who consider nature, biodiversity and the community as important stakeholders in all their decisions.
