Horizon Europe
Let's participate in the innovation effort to decarbonize
What is Horizon Europe?
Horizon Europe is the European Union's framework program for research and innovation for the period 2021 to 2027 .
The new EU research and innovation program will have a budget of around €95.5 billion for 2021-2027 (current prices). This includes €5.4 billion (current prices) from NextGenerationEU to boost our recovery and make the EU more resilient for the future, as well as an additional €4.5 billion (current prices) boost.
This represents an increase of around 30% on the current research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020 and makes it the most ambitious research and innovation program in the world. This budget will also benefit from contributions from future associated countries.
As was the case for its predecessor, Horizon Europe's activities will be carried out through open and competitive calls for proposals .
The challenges of the Horizon Europe program
Research and innovation is a priority at the European Union level. As noted by the European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science, Carlos Moedas, “Investing in research and innovation means investing in the future of Europe, in knowledge and in new solutions.”
As such, “Horizon Europe” is the most ambitious research and innovation program ever undertaken.”
This framework program concretizes the European Union's desire to stand out in a context of strong international competition in order to offer better visibility to research and cutting-edge innovation, to attract the best talents, in particular through to the implementation of competitive financing, and to address current global issues.
The general objectives of the Horizon Europe program are to:
- strengthen the scientific and technological bases of the Union;
- stimulate its competitiveness, including that of its industry;
- deliver the Union's strategic political priorities;
- contribute to responding to global issues, including the Sustainable Development Goals.
How is syntezia positioned?
syntezia positions itself as a Swiss partner on the subjects of living lab, impact analysis, communication, dissemination and exploitation.
Switzerland is not part of the European Union, we are therefore "freeriders", we are not in direct competition with our Consortium partners from Member States.
How does syntezia strengthen?
Depending on the subjects, our management team sometimes needs reinforcement to complete the teams with specific skills (scientific, IP, academic, industrial, etc.). We then contact the syntezia roaster or our existing trusted partners.
